: Queensland's outbreak of equine influenza has worsened with another 20 infections confirmed at Warwick.
The horses are located at the Morgan Park Equestrian Centre at Warwick are showing flu symptoms and are being treated with antibiotics.
Dr Julian Willmore from the Australian Equestrian Federation says the Warwick outbreak was proof of how contagious the EI virus can be among horses.
"One of the very first horses that was sick here was out walking with a rider with another horse alongside and that other horse developed the infection without direct contact," he said.
"It's very contagious and I wouldn't be surprised if the 250 horses we've got on the grounds got infected and showed various signs of infection."
