Monday, 17 November 2008: With the big races now all over, many punters drop off until next autumn, but in reality, this time of year offers exceptional winning opportunities.
The depth has gone out of the races now and finding a winner is a much easier task - yet the value still remains.
RSAO Final Report subscribers had a nice day out on Saturday and from five qualifying races, three of the winners were found on top - each at nice overlay prices.
At Sandown, there were only two recommended betting races on the card - the Sandown Guineas and Sandown Stakes.
In each case, the winner was rated on top at $3.20. Caymans got out to $3.50 before firming up late, while $4.20 was available about Chasm at one stage through betting.
In Sydney, the final race saw Wasted Emotions rated as the $3.50 top pick and bookmakers offered $4.60 before he prevailed over our second elect, News Alert, by a short head.
Results from previous years suggest these type of results will continue.
In 2007-08, from Sandown Cup day through to the first week in February, the Final Report (Top 2) showed a profit on investment of 34% - well above the average profit figure.
The Final Report is available each Saturday and selected Public Holidays for just $33, which covers each of Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
