A week after beating the boys, Katie Lee had to fight hard to overhaul the Shaune Ritchie trained Keep The Peace (whose ownership team includes former champion jockey Mick Dittman) but was in front at the right time and completed the feature double.
Katie Lee
races for Sir Patrick and Lady Justine Hogan, who have provided so much history for Australasian racing over the past three decades via the deeds of their Champion Cambridge Stud stallions Sir Tristram and Zabeel.
Ironically, Katie Lee's victory denied a new Group 1 winner for resident Cambridge stallion Keeper, who sired the runner up.
Katie Lee is one of five individual Group 1 winners for the Snippets sire Pins, joining Caulfield Guineas winner Econsul, Porotene Gem, Legs and multiple G1 winning Cox Plate hero
El Segundo.
Katie Lee is from the G3 winning mare Miss Jessie Jay (Spectacularphantom), who in turn is a half-sister to the dual Group 1 winner Gee I Jane.
The filly was sold by Hallmark Stud for $340,000 at last year's New Zealand Bloodstock Premier Yearling Sale and is now the winner of five races in 10 starts.
