Friday, 12 March 2010: Leading Caulfield trainer Tony Vasil recently brought up his 400th winner since combining with Aquanita Racing in season 2003.

The win at a low key meeting at Sale was by Australian Oaks bound and high class filly Valdemoro .

The filly, runner-up in last year's Crown Oaks, is owned by long time Vasil supporters and wears the colours of two of Vasil's champion gallopers, Elvstreom and Haradasun.

Both Elvstroem and Haradasun had outstanding racing careers while under Vasil's care, winning multiple Group Ones, before moving onto stud duties.

Since joining the Aquanita stable of trainers, Vasil has consistently sat in the top ten trainers in the Melbourne premiership.

His winning strike of 17% rates him as an astute judge with a perceptive knack for placing his horses.

Vasil was full of praise for the service that Aquanita provide.

“Horse racing is a seven day a week business," Vasil said. "Before I joined Aquanita I was on the verge of giving training away due to the onerous administration burden I was finding with running my business.

"The fun and enjoyment was clearly waning. Despite some solid success on my own, since joining Aquanita I have had 12 Group I winners and numerous Black Type success.

"Much of that achievement is due to the fact that I now spend 100% of my time doing what I love – training winners for my owners.”
