Thursday, 1 April 2010: A soft track in Saturday's Group 1 BMW Stakes at Rosehill plays into the hands of talented Kiwi mare Daffodil, according to trainer Kevin Gray.

The mare is fitter for three runs from a spell including a last start fourth behind Theseo in the Group 1
Ranvet Stakes when sitting just off the pace.
Gray wants the mare ridden more quietly this time but believes the extra trip and soft track are both in her favour.
“The soft won't worry her at all,” Gray said.
“I'd like for her to be ridden quieter for her to go the extra distance. That was only her third run of the season and she was a little fresh but I'm certain she'll strip fitter this time up because we've really got the work into her.”
Daffodil
won the AJC Oaks last autumn over the same journey at Randwick on dead ground but is a Group 1 winner on slow going and Group 3 placed at her only try on heavy ground.
The mare is currently trading on the third line of betting at $8.60, with Theseo favourite at $3.90 closely followed by Speed Gifted at $4.70.
