Tuesday, 25 January 2011: Racing & Sports analysts will be compiling a Final Report for tomorrow's big Australia Day meetings, headed by the Caulfield program featuring the bulk of Blue Diamond aspirants.
The Final Report continues to deliver the most accurate, no nonsense approach to ratings and analysis.
Recent comments include:
SOMEPIN ANYPIN (Rated on top $3.50): Doesn't look huge speed, so will be interesting to see which - if any - go up to put some pressure on Unanimously. Senior jock (and a very much in form one at that) goes on Somepin Anypin today after a slaughter job by the apprentice last time. Given no hope there - may not have won, as he seemed to race a touch flat, but he's a much better horse than the result suggests. Perhaps 2nd up off the big rating fresh win found him out. Expect much better. Tricky draw, but hopefully JAC can take care of that.
Cabeza (rated $1.60): The TAB bet $3.40 and then plenty of $3.10 about Cabeza, which seemed remarkable odds. Would expect he will run closer to even money here or even a shade of odds-on. Just has to repeat the last start figures to make a mess of these. He looks capable of stepping up to stakes grade going on the MV win, where he reeled off blistering figures. 3rd placed Down Under Boy has already confirmed the strength of the form.
Grand Duels (trifecta in order): No reason the in form Grand Duels can't win again. Has had a new lease on life of late and lumped the big weight stylishly at Cfld. He loves the straight and with Arnold to ride again, looks hard to hold out. Warm Love should give him something to catch. Yet to face any serious class opposition this prep, but she has been winning with ease and 1000m is ideal. Cardinal Virtue isn't the toughest converyance, but going okay at present and 1000m should suit.
Glissade (Beaten at $1.35): Glissade clocked solid figures on debut, although nothing to get overly carried away with.
Gai's Choice (rated on top $3.50 - paid up to $6.90 on totes): Gai's Choice clocked strong figures when winning in Sydney last time and a repeat of that will see her taking this race out.
