Monday, 17 October 2011: Arrowfield Stud sires dominated on Saturday with six winners at the Melbourne and Sydney meetings.
Exciting colt Galah (Redoute’s Choice x Rinky Dink, by Distorted Humor) was the first of four winners on the Caulfield Cup program for Arrowfield sires.
He became the 79th individual stakes winner for Redoute’s Choice when he claimed the Listed Lightway Australia Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield.
Impressive filly Gliding (Flying Spur x Marrego, by Marscay) emerged as a a top Oaks chance with her win in the Listed
Ethereal Stakes.
She has the pedigree to be a classic winner as she is a half-sister to the outstanding G1 winner Eremein (Timber Country), who won the AJC Derby.
Sydney filly Satin Shoes (Flying Spur x Star Satire, by Volksraad) made it a double at Caulfield for the leading sire when she won the Carlton Draught Plate.
Sabrage (Charge Forward x Galroof, by Maroof) was a significant winner for his Arrowfield sire Charge Forward in the G3 Norman Robinson Stakes.
At Rosehill trainer Gerald Ryan produced a pair of winners by his former crack sprinter and now leading young Arrowfield sire Snitzel.
Classy three-year-old Hot Snitzel (Snitzel x Flames Of Paris, by Blushing Groom) became the sixth stakes winner by SNitzel when won the Listed Sir Brian Crowley Stakes.
Hot Snitzel cost $60,000 at the 2010 Inglis Premier Sale. He won the G2 Sires Produce Stakes at Eagle Farm in June and wil now be on his way to Melbourne to tackle either the G1
Coolmore Stud Stakes or the G2 Salinger Stakes at Flemington on Derby Day.
His 2YO stablemate Amorino (Snitzel x Steal My Love, by Marauding) made an impressive start to her career with an easy win in the City Tattersalls Plate.
