Thursday, 23 February 2012: For the second year in succession trainer Theo Kieser struck a prized blow in the Singapore Golden Horseshoe Series for two-year-olds at Kranji on Sunday with an Australian bred and sold youngster.
The win netted Kieser another lucrative bonus thanks to Inglis.
Kieser and the Gryphon Stable combined with Riverdene Stud bred galloper
Kaiser (Seidnazar) to take out the inaugural Inglis Melbourne Juvenile Stakes in Singapore last year and the same combination did it again this year.
The 2012 renewal was taken out by Griffin (Sequalo) who led throughout to win the 1000m event over dead-heaters Jackpot ( Artie Schiller) and Zeus Thunder (Enemy Of Average).
Griffin's winning connections collected $S40,000 plus the additional $S25,000 bonus on offer to the winner for being Australian sired and purchased at an Australian sale conducted by either Inglis or Magic Millions.
“The owners have almost recovered their money from the win and it's great to follow on from our victory in the first two-year-old race last year with
Kaiser”, Kieser said.
Kaiser, now three, was not be left out of celebrations as he won a Class 3 over 1100m later in the day.
“It's great to see strong supporters of the Golden Horseshoe Series like Theo Kieser succeed with yearlings purchased in Australia and targeted at these races”, said Inglis Asia Representative Peter Twomey.
“The two-year-old series was a great success last year with horses such as Mr Big, Dark Matter, Cash Luck and
Kaiser all winning lucrative bonuses and it is great to see those two-year-olds further succeeding in their three-year-old season.
“
Kaiser took his earnings past $S250,000 today, Mr Big has $S460,000 in the bank after defeating the older horses in January, Dark Matter won twice in Dubai recently, while Cash Luck just arrived in Dubai and is heading towards the UAE Guineas after winning here last month."
The Singapore Golden Horseshoe Series comprises seven races with $S1million on offer, culminating in the running of the G2 Aushorse Golden Horseshoe over 1200m on May 18.
Horses eligible for the bonuses on offer in the Singapore Golden Horseshoe Series are on offer at the Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale from February 27 to March 1.
