Friday, 20 April 2012: Bob Bentley will stand down as chairman of the Australian Racing Board effective from April 30.
This will align with the date of effect of his resignation from the Board of Racing Queensland.
ARB chief executive, Andrew Harding, has on behalf of the Board thanked Mr Bentley for his service.
“The racing industry has faced some difficult national challenges during Bob Bentley's two terms as Chairman of the Australian Racing Board. Whenever these issues have come to the Australian Racing Board Bob has shown authoritative leadership.
"Nobody could say that Bob has ever been frightened of making a contribution.”
The ARB directors will appoint a new chairman in due course.
