Tempting Odds For Black Caviar

Thursday, 26 April 2012: UK bookmakers have tempted Australian punters to back turf queen Black Caviar with seemingly generous odds on offer for the mare to win at Royal Ascot in June following the issue of entries for the Diamond Jubilee Stakes.

The unbeaten mare is available at odds of 4-6 (1.67) with leading UK bookmakers, odds that have not been available in any of her last 11 races in Australia.

The last time Black Caviar was at odds of better than 2-7 (1.28) in Australia was 18 months ago when she beat Star Witness and Ortensia in the Patinack Farm Classic at Flemington in November of 2010 when her starting price was 9-10 (1.90).

Black Caviar will be seeking the Australian record of 20 straight metropolitan wins and her 10th Group One success at Morphettville on Saturday.

UK bookmakers have no other entry for the Diamond Jubilee under double figures and have discounted the other Australian entries for the race by listing British duo Bated Breath and Hoof It at 12-1.

Bahrain-trained Krypton Factor, winner of the Golden Shaheen at the Dubai carnival, is at 14-1 while the Australian G1 winners Foxwedge and Sepoy are ast 16-1 with Moonlight Cloud and Society Rock.
Ortensia is at 20-1 with Delegator and Hong Kong entry Little Bridge.

DIAMOND JUBILEE (William Hill): 4-6 Black Caviar, 12-1 Bated Breath, Hoof It, 14-1 Krypton Factor, 16-1 Foxwedge, Moonlight Cloud, Sepoy, Society Rock, 20-1 Delegator, Little Bridge, Ortensia, Power, Wizz Kid, 25-1 Mayson, Nephrite, Overdose, 33-1 Curren Chan, Dubawi Gold, Helmet, Hitchens, Libranno, Temple Of Boom, 40-1 Crusade, Reply, 50-1 Amico Fritz, Captain Sweet, Fire Lily, Genki, King's Rose, Our Jonathan, Royal Rock, Sirius Prospect, Soul.
