Monday, 14 May 2012: Buyers interested in purchasing a mare in foal to race her progeny need not look further than Saturday's Group 3 winner Dinkum Diamond to see what great value can be found in the Inglis Great Southern Sale in Melbourne.

Winner of the G3 The Jansz at Morphettville Dinkum Diamond (Keep The Faith) is the fourth foal of G3 winning mare Raja Lane.

Raja Lane was sold carrying Dinkum Diamond in utero at the 2009 Inglis Great Southern Bloodstock Sale for $60,000 to bloodstock agent Adrian Hancock on behalf of Toorak Park Stud's Harry Perks.

The Keep The Faith two-year-old is raced by Perks, who put the filly in the care of Leon Macdonald at Morphettville, leading to two wins, a second placing and $148,550 in prizemoney from three starts so far.

314 mares, of which 228 are in foal, have been catalogued in this month's Great Southern Bloodstock Sale , which will be held on May 24 and 25. Selling begins at 10:30am each day.

Highlights of the broodmare section at the upcoming sale includes Group 2 winning mare Avienus . The outstanding daughter of Reset was also placed at Group 1 level and has not been to stud.

Leading broodmare sires Zabeel, Danehill, Flying Spur, Canny Lad, Snippets, Grand Lodge, Success Express, Last Tycoon, Centaine, Octagonal and Rory's Jester are all represented with stock in the sale, as are current leading sires Fastnet Rock, Redoute's Choice and Encosta de Lago.

Preceding the Bloodstock Sale will be First Season Sire Showcase on Sunday May 20, followed by the offering of over 400 weanlings at the Great Southern Weanling Sale on May 22 and 23.

Weanlings by first season sires Amadeus Wolf, Bushranger, Duporth, I Am Invincible, Nicconi, O'Lonhro, Red Arrow, Turffontein and Wanted will be paraded in the Oaklands Sale ring at 3:30pm on Sunday May 20.

Selling of the 406 catalogued weanlings gets underway at 10:30am on Tuesday May 22.

Lots 1 to 206 will be offered on Day One, followed by Lots 207 to 406 from 10:30am on Wednesday May 23.

Proven sires represented with progeny in the weanling section include Bel Esprit, Domesday, Exceed And Excel, Fastnet Rock, Flying Spur, Hussonet, Lonhro, Reset, Snitzel, Statue Of Liberty, Stratum, Street Cry, Testa Rossa and Written Tycoon.
