Sunday, 20 May 2012: Yesterday the wonderful Hong Kong track was affected by the rain that fell during the meeting, with horses going right over to the stand side to find better going.

This was particularly the case in the two feature races. In the AYV Cup Brett Prebble produced Familists down the outside and went on to win the race from Outdoor Pegasus, Let Me Handle It and Chater Way. Fat Choy Oohlala had his chances but obviously did not like the ground and came 5th. Fair Trade is to undergo a further vet examination as they were not able to scope him straight after the race.
A potentional new star arrived in Race 10 i the form of President Lincoln, a lightly raced NZ colt by
O'Reilly out of Pinot Gris (great name). He relished the conditions and Zac Purton kept him to the outside and he finished on down the outside very strongly. Wah May Star found the weight and conditions a bit much, finishing second and Keen Wongchoy was third, with Time After Time fourth. No reason for Oracle's unimpressive run and Circuit Star was found to have mucus in the trachea after the race. Voile Rouge had blood in the trachea after the race and Silver Grecian will have to undergo a stalls test before his next start.
