Monday, 28 May 2012: Fortunately not in the feature race but two races later when Douglas Whyte's mount the favourite Can Do snapped a leg and Umberto Rispoli's mount collided with the stricken horse.
Fortunately for Whyte he was found to be only bruised but Rispoli suffered a broken bone in his wrist, which is not good news.
However on the more cheerful side of things the G3 Sha Tin Vase was a thriller with
Captain Sweet just outlasting Arrived Ahead who didn't - he was a short head behind. Best Eleven was half a length away in third and Cerise Cherry's run was solid for fourth.
An upset in the C&C when Liberator stormed to the front to take care of both Ambitious Dragon and Dominant who filled second and third respectively.
There were jockey substitutions in the last following the fall involving Whyte and Rispoli, and Whyte's place on Real Specialist was taken by Tye Angland and what happened? They won. Free Judgement was second and California Dude is getting closer to the post this time with third, Dan Excel fourth.
