Saturday, 9 June 2012: In a move that has stunned the racing world, I'll Have Another, winner of the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness, has been scratched from the Belmont.
Owner Paul Reddam made the announcement on Thursday US Eastern time, after the horse was found to have tendonitis in one leg. Not only has he been scratched from the Belmont, he's been retired from racing.
Dullihan is now the 9/5 favourite for the Belmont.
At a press conference when the decision to scratch I'll Have Another was announced, one reporter - hopefully not a racing reporter - asked if he would have another go at the Triple Crown next year!
