Saturday, 16 June 2012: Before heading for Ascot and his dates with Ortensia, Craig Williams will ride Gulveig in the G3 Mermaid Stakes at Hanshin on Sunday.
Williams rode the filly to victory in the Hong Kong Jockey Club Stakes in the race before the Yasuda Kinen when she took on the boys. She's by Deep Impact out of the wonderful Tony Bin mare Air Groove.
Agnes Waltz and Christmas Carol may be the dangers in this 2000m contest.
Up in Hokkaido it's the Hakodate Sprint over 1200m. Leon Bisty went to Dubai but found either the trip or the competition a bit too tough and is better suited here, where Pas de Trois and King Leopold could also figure in the results.
