Black Caviar's assault on Royal Ascot to be covered by TAB Sportsbet
TAB Sportsbet is combining with Channel Seven to bring Australia the most comprehensive coverage of Black Caviar's assault on Royal Ascot this weekend. This Saturday from 11pm, Channel Seven will televise action from one of the premier race carnivals of the world. Royal Ascot's carnival commences on Tuesday night and runs through until Saturday, which is when Australia's superstar will take her place in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes. Black Caviar will be attempting to stretch her unbeaten career record to 22 straight wins when she lines up in the event. Australia is also likely to be represented by Ortensia in the same race. The free-to-air coverage will be headed up by Channel Seven's face of the Melbourne Cup carnival, Bruce McAvaney, who will be joined by TAB Sportsbet Media Manager Adam Hamilton. It is 15 years since the pair first worked together on Channel Seven's now defunct sports magazine show, Sportsworld.
“I can't wait to see Black Caviar take on some of the world's best sprinters,” Hamilton said.
“While we've had some great horses go overseas and conquer Royal Ascot, rarely have we seen one that has captured the attention of the whole country.
“I am excited to be part of the television coverage this Saturday on what will be a momentous occasion in world sport.
“I'm also looking forward to work alongside Bruce McAvaney again – we first worked on Sportsworld together all those years ago and while we're both a little older now, we're both as passionate as ever about our horse racing.”
TAB Sportsbet is setting up a live site at Federation Square in Melbourne for those staying up late to watch the Royal Ascot coverage. A big screen and EBT's along with a TAB van will ensure patrons won't miss a second of the action.

Stable set to sizzle
The TAB's Number One Club stable is set to have several runners engaged this weekend, headlined by the dual stakes winner Hoss Amor. The John O'Shea-trained galloper has been in sensational form in her debut season, winning two of her five starts and placing in two others. Her biggest win to date was in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic at Wyong back in December. More recently, she was impressive in taking out the Lancaster Stakes at Eagle Farm. Hoss Amor has been nominated to compete at Eagle Farm this Saturday in the 2YO Plate. On the same day at Warwick Farm, Number One Gun will be looking for his third win from six career starts when he lines up in the 3YO Benchmark 80 Handicap. Also a member of the O'Shea stable, Number One Gun goes into the race on the back of a dominant four-length win at Canterbury last start. Finally, our consistent pacer The Big Mach is engaged in the Tabcorp Park Menangle Pacers Cup (1609 metres) this Sunday afternoon. Trainer-driver David Thorn says the six-year-old has been working a treat at home and is ready to put in another good performance. “He is fresh after having a week off racing and I think he will be very competitive once again in what is a pretty tricky race,” he declared. Every time one of the stable animals compete, Number One Club members are chosen to be its owner for a day. Along with sharing in all the benefits an owner would get, they also get to split a share of the prize winnings! So far over $255,000 in prize winnings have been distributed to Number One Club members that have been selected to be owners for the day.
