Friday, 22 June 2012: The Australian Turf Club is opening the gates to Rosehill Gardens on Wednesday 4 July with a free live broadcast of the State of Origin decider live from Brisbane on its state-of-the-art mega screen.
The screen, which was officially launched in April, is the largest of its kind in the southern hemisphere, standing 11 metres high and spanning a massive 40 metres in length. Patrons will enjoy free access to covered grandstand seating while food and beverage outlets will also be available.
ATC CEO Darren Pearce said the Club had seen an opportunity to use its facilities to bring the action of one of the greatest sporting events of the year to the community.
“The Rosehill Gardens giant screen is the biggest this side of the equator and we're excited to offer the chance to see the action of this important series decider in larger than life pictures,” Mr Pearce said.
“The Blues have certainly shown great Origin spirit this year and local fans who can't get to Queensland will have no better way to take in the action than at Rosehill Gardens.”
Guests can pre-book into the State of Origin Dinner which includes a reserved table, two-course dinner, mini pies at half time, access to the undercover seating deck to watch the game and a cash bar facility. Tickets are $70 per adult and $20 for children under 12-years-of-age.
One of the racecourse's most convenient features is transport. There is plenty of free car parking available plus the option to travel direct to the door by train.
