Tuesday, 26 June 2012: Post race reports from recent meetings.
WARWICK FARM – June 23
Race 1: Trainer Gerald Ryan reported that Brillian Snitzel had pulled up well and he will continue with the filly's preparation.
Race 3: Co-trainer Michael Hawkes reported that Blue Lion has been spelled.
NEWCASTLE – June 20
Race 1: Trainer Peter Snowden stated that Haut Normandie had pulled up well and he would drop the colt back to 1600m at its next start, as he felt Haut Normandie may not have run out the 1850m journey.
Race 3: Trainer Joe Pride reported that Annabels had pulled up well and the only excuse he could offer was that the filly did not handle the rain affected track. He added that a full veterinary inspection, including a lung wash, did not reveal any abnormalities and it is his intention to continue with Annabels' preparation.
Race 3: Co-trainer Michael Hawkes reported that a full veterinary examination of Sherwood including an ECG and endoscopic examination subsequent to the event did not reveal any abnormality. He confirmed that Sherwood would now be spelled.
Race 5: James Cummings, representing trainer J B Cummings, stated he attributed the poor performance of Shuswap to the wet track conditions and also that the filly had had an interrupted preparation due to the recent wet weather.
Race 9: Liam Prior, representing trainer Chris Waller, reported that The Heights had pulled up well following its unplaced effort.
KEMBLA GRANGE - June 19
RACE 4: Darren Smith, trainer of Iberian Pleasure, which dislodged its rider apprentice A Stead during its preliminary, stated that the gelding had pulled up well however undertook to trial it prior to its next race start.
ROSEHILL – June 16
Race 3: Liam Prior, representing trainer Chris Waller, reported that Ingham Magic had pulled up well following its unplaced effort.
Race 4: Co-trainer Michael Hawkes reported that Mecir had failed to handle the heavy track conditions and had now been sent for a spell.
Race 6: Trainer Bede Murray reported that Isle Be Ready had pulled up well following its disappointing performance, which he attributed to the heavy going. He added that Isle B Ready will be given a brief freshen up before continuing with its preparation.
Race 8: Co-trainer Michael Hawkes reported that The Zeebac, although it had some established form on rain affected going, did not handle the very heavy track conditions. He added The Zeebac had pulled up well following the race and it was his intention to continue with its preparation.
Liam Prior, representing trainer Chris Waller, reported that Praise Be had pulled up well following its unplaced effort.
Race 9: Trainer Gary Frazer reported that Hurrara had pulled up showing some effects of a hard run on the heavy track. He added he would now freshen up the gelding prior to its next race start.
