Saturday, 30 June 2012: There is no certainty that very short favourite Camelot will run in the Irish Derby should there be more rain, which seems very probable.
There has been a lot of rain and the forecast isn't too promising. If Camelot comes out the betting will go into orbit as the other runners were all in double figure quotes. Two that we would consider are Born to Sea and Light Heavy.
Earlier there's the Railway Stakes, G2, now down to 7 runners with the O'Briens Cristoforo Colombo 4/9 which looks extremely skinny. We would prefer to go each way on the 81 shots Probably and Almanack.
The Sapphire Stakes G3 over 1000m has 9 runners. Definightly is on 5/2 but we do like Tiddliwinks 3/1 and Santo Padre on 8/1.
