Monday, 2 July 2012: Popular sire Blevic has died at Kambula Stud in South Australia.

A resident at the Kadina stud since 1996, Blevic was humanely euthanized on Sunday after complications following colic surgery.
A dual G1 winner of the Victoria Derby, Blevic stood for 16 seasons and served 1218 mares with his fertility exceeding 90%.
To date he is the sire of 331 winners of over $21 million including 41 stakes horses including Blevvo, Shewan, Moudre, Exalted Ego, Shablec, Streetcar Magic, Under The bridge, Sassbee and Exalted Lad.
Daughters of Blevic have already produced the Golden Slipper winner Phelan ready, Alcopop, Pellizotti and Strawberry Field.
