Friday, 6 July 2012: So the fairy tale doesn't have a happy ending with the planned finale to So You Think's magnificent career now not happening.

The script was for him to bow out after having been only the sixth horse to win two successive Eclipse Stakes but he's been found lame and because his stud career will begin in Australia there isn't time for him to be prepared for another race. There will always be so many "what ifs" about this horse so we have to await to see if his progeny can provide the answers.
In the meantime the Eclipse goes ahead at Sandown UK with a field of 10 and Godolphin's supplemented runner Farhh favourite on 9/4. Nathaniel, for the very in-form Gosden/ Buick team, is on 3/1, Cityscape 11/2. Two interesting runners on 10/1 are Monterosso, the Dubai World Cup winner, and Crackerjack King, now with Marco Botti prior to a planned trip to Australia as he has Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock owning a part of him. The weather is supposed to be sunny and 19 degrees - amazing!
Also on the card te G3 Sprint Stakes over 1000m with a field of 14. Night Carnation won this last year so at least in this race there could be a double as he's favourite on 9/2. Spirit Quartz is 6/1 and Medicean Man 7/1.
Up at Haydock were the going us going to be on the soggy side it's the G2 Lancashire Oaks over 2400,. The Queen is certainly having a memorable racing year in her Jubilee Year and it is her filly Set To Music who is favourite here at 3/1. Shimmering Surf is 7/2 and we like Testosterone at 6/1.
