Favourite Bated Breath Scratched From July Cup

Saturday, 14 July 2012: Prepost favourite Bated Breath has been withdrawn from tonight's July Cup at Newmarket, leaving Australian stars Ortensia and Sepoy well in contention to claim the Group One sprint.

Unfortunately the weather is against the Australian pair with a very soft track not ideal for either horse.

With the rain continuing Bated Breath

was withdrawn due to the track conditions.

Proven G1 winner Society Rock

is the new favourite ahead of Golden Slipper Stakes winner Sepoy

, now racing in the Godolphin colours in Europe, with Ortensia

next in the betting.
