Sunday, 22 July 2012: Racing started on Friday and despite a few problems (we've heard running water and internet access mentioned) and a few upsets in the races at least it's all happening.

The two G3's on Friday saw Richard Dutrow win the James Marvin with Pacific Ocean (surely he should have been at Del Mar) and Tony Dutrow the Schuylerville with So Many Ways. Richard Dutrow had his 10 year suspension upheld on Thursday but it seems he can appeal this and continue to train. Pacific Ocean showed a lot of speed to defeat Goldigger's Boy with favourite Jackson Bend only fourth.
The Schuylerville saw So Many Ways get the better of Can't Explain with Baby J third.
On Saturday the Coaching Club American Oaks G1 over 1800m saw the Godolphin runner Questing who is with Kieren McLaughlin lay down the law to the rest of the field with Zo Impressive 4 1/4 lengths back in second and favourite In Lingerie third.
Over at Del Mar Acclamation won the Eddie Read for the second year running and in the process scored a 7th win from the last 7 outings.
The lovely Royal Delta won the Delaware Handicap G2. She is a beautiful looking horse who seems to be blessed with a very nice temperament.
At Colonial Downs the odds-on favourite Silver Max won the Virginia Derby.
