  Story by Peter Neall

Sunday, 29 July 2012: Prominent Victorian apprentice Adam McCabe started the day well when he rode Conduction to a win in the 1600 metre opening event at Morphettville on Saturday.

Being under the care of David Jolly and leading all the way Conduction will be constricted to racing on softer tracks over the next couple of months.

Little Less Lip lived up to her first winning performance when she brought up a duo of wins in raced two which was run over 1050 metres.

Trained by Jon O'Connor and having the services of Adrian Patterson Little Less Lip came from a rearward position to gain victory.

Our Sphinx made it two wins in succession when he won the 1600 metre third race for trainer Tony McEvoy.

The former New South Wales galloper who was ridden by Matthew Neilson came from a midfield position and will be restricted to mile races in the next few months.

The Jim Smith prepared Kosciuszko's Side also had successive victories when he won the 1200 metre fourth event.

Piloted to victory by Joe Bowditch Kosciuszko's Side was well placed and is now likely to be turned out for a slight let up.

Mentor Tony McEvoy brought up a double when the Linda Meech ridden Unser won the 2006 metre sixth event.

Coming from well back before getting to the front well into the straight Unser will have its next run in a 2000 metre race on August 11.

The Paula Trenwith trained Lilgiggleo proved himself a model of consistency when he took out the 1100 metre sixth race.

Ridden by Clare Liindop Lilgiggleo weaved his way through the field and will be given another run over an 1100 metre journey in three weeks.

The well performed Avoid Lightning, who likes the sting out of the ground, brought up a quartet of wins when she won the final listed race of the 2011/12 season, the 1050 metre Lightning Stakes.

Bringing up two wins for Melbourne apprentice Adam McCabe the David Jolly prepared Avoid Lightning was well placed and will probably keep going while it is wet and may be an early spring contender for a mares class race in Melbourne.

The Leon Macdonald/Andrew Gluyas trained Tsarina Wonder completed a good day for last start winners when she won the 1600 metre final event.

Bringing up a double for Clare Lindop the three year old filly Tsarina Wonder was no further back than second for the entire journey.
