Friday, 17 August 2012: Saturday's main UK races will be run at Newbury with the Geoffrey Free over 2700m having 7 starters and the Hungerford down the straight 1400m has 10.
The Geoffrey Freer is of particular interest as it contains Mt Athos who has been nominated for a trip to Melbourne by trainer Luca Cumani. He's quoted at 9/4, with Brown Panther on 3/1 and the consistent Harris Tweed on 4/1.
The Hungerford has Strong Suit on top at 11/4, but we prefer Godolphin's Aussie-bred Commands runner Soul, with Dettori riding. Chachamaidee is 4/1 and Libranno 10/1 which is value.
