Tuesday, 28 August 2012: Import Sysmo and Reliable Man, a French-trained stablemate of Melbourne Cup winner Dunaden, are the only late entries for the $2.5 million Caulfield Cup on October 20.
The Tony McEvoy-trained Sysmo joined the Alain de Royer Dupre-trained Reliable Man as the late entries at today's 12 noon deadline.
Their entry takes to 222 the total number of nominations for the world's richest 2400m handicap.
Sysmo 
has raced three times in Australia, impressing in the Aurie's Star Handicap over the straight 1200m course at Flemington on August 11 when he worked to the line keenly from last to finish fifth.
Sysmo, also nominated for the $3 million WS Cox Plate at Moonee Valley on October 27, will have his next start at Caulfield on Saturday in the $120,000 Slickpix Stakes (1700m).
Reliable Man 
, winner of four of his first five starts in France last year including the G2 Prix Neil, last raced on July 21 when fourth behind G1 stars Danedream, Nathaniel and St Nicholas Abbey in the G1 King George and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot in the UK.
The prospects of him making the trip to Australia firmed when it was announced on Monday that stablemate Dunaden would be returning to run in the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups this spring.
Willing Foe 
, the Godolphin-owned winner of the important Ebor Handicap at York last weekend, was not added to the Caulfield Cup entries but is expected to be nominated for the $6 million Melbourne Cup when entries close next Tuesday.
Caulfield Cup weights will be released on September 5.
