Zagreb stormed home to win the recent Birthday Cup and left in his wake were a host of horses heading towards next month's Adelaide Cup.
Saturday's Port Cup nominations also include a huge contingent heading that way, among them
Moment In Time
,
Right Fong
and
Summery
.
Murray Bridge trainer Mick Huxtable put down Moment In Time's disappointing 13th behind Zegreb as favourite to a virus, and is confident the mare can bounce back in this Saturday's assignment.
Morphettville trainer Richard Jolly has set Summery for the Adelaide Cup since last year and believes her eighth behind Zagreb was good, given she is looking for at least Saturday's longer journey.
Right Fong, prepared by fellow Morphettville trainer David Balfour, had his first run since finishing last in the Perth Cup with a fast finishing seventh in the Birthday Cup.
Balfour has decided to remove the blinkers for this weekend's longer race.
Free-running stayer
Atlantic Air
is among nominations for the Port Cup in his first race since winning the Bagot on New Year's Day.
Last year's Adelaide Cup runner-up
Kerdem
and dour stayer
Dolphin Jo
are also among this weekend's nominations.
The $400,000 Group 2 Adelaide Cup (3200m) is on March 8.
