Thursday, 5 July 2012: The Dennis Drier-trained Sun Medallion winner Potent Power has been sold to Hong Kong for an undisclosed sum.

The sale has resulted in his scratching from the G1 Golden Horseshoe on the Vodacom Durban July day card at Greyville on Saturday where he was expected to start favourite.
Drier said, “He has been bought to race overseas, so it is probably the wise thing for the connections not run him.
"He will fly to Hong Kong as soon as the export protocols allow.”
Drier will still have three G1 contenders on the big day with Beach Beauty in the July and Schiffer and Anne Trulove in the Durban Golden Slipper.
“I just worry whether they've given Beach Beauty a kilo or two too much. It's not easy for a small filly to carry 58kg," he said.
"But she couldn't be better than she is right now.”
Beach Beauty beat July rivals Chesalon, Polar Bound, Top Seller, Gold Onyx and Solo Traveller in the Betting World 1900 and only Chesalon and Solo Traveller get a turnaround in the weights.
Drier was very pleased with Schiffer's gallop before the races on Sunday at Greyville and rates the Var filly, who was a facile winner of her 1000m debut.
She is drawn well in eight, but there is still a concern over her seeing out the 1400m trip.
