I suspect that is a mistake. What is that oft used phrase which is appropriate in describing the situation that occurs when you borrow someone's new born baby kittens?
I believe the term you meant is a "litter loan"

PS I know it's slack to pay out on someone's mistake so i apologise diva now. | | Post a reply to this message. |

Her Oaks time was over a second faster than Headturner's Derby time.
She's still fat and hairy, but qualified for the Cups. Freedman won't have her at her absolute peak until Caulfield Cup day. She'd want to show a bit more at her next start, but I wouldn't be writing her off.
As for "little own" ... LOL ... I haven't heard anything that funny since Slim thought Miss Finland might receive a penalty for the Cox Plate!! | | Post a reply to this message. |

I've no doubt that even though she beat rubbish in both Oaks she was well on her way to being a huge chance in the Cups. Either she hasnt come up this prep or her mind is elsewhere. OSJ is another im not overly sure about, his runs have been average and he'll need to improve a lot to figure. Sphenophyta is at this stage, Lee's Cups horse ... who would've thought that 2 months ago. | | Post a reply to this message. |

Cheers for pulling out those stats Francis, thought Magical Miss won a few more.
Should be able to get some idea of how Serenade Rose is going at her next start. | | Post a reply to this message. |
Author: DSFrancis Timestamp:- 25/9/2006 10:45:23 PM Subject: Re: Serenade Rose Message: Iglesia, no problems with that list.
Special Harmony 6 starts out of 3yo company for 0 wins.
Bulla Borghese 8 starts out of 3yo company for 0 wins.
Dizelle 14 starts out of 3yo company for 1 win at G3 over Not Fussy.
Hollow Bullet 10 starts out of 3yo company for 0 wins.
Sunday Joy 4 starts out of 3yo company for 1 win in mares grade.
Wild Iriz 14 starts out of 3yo company for 0 wins.
Can even throw Magical Miss and Republic Lass in there - aggregate of 19 starts out of 3yo company for 1 win each.
Serenade Rose 3 starts out of 3yo company for 0 wins.
And the talk is of $2.5 Million Open Class Group 1's? No thanks. | | Post a reply to this message. |
Author: Another Diva Timestamp:- 25/9/2006 8:22:57 PM Subject: Re: Serenade Rose Message: Dont totally wipe her off your Caulfield Cup list. She needs the distance and will most likely get a nice run. Im not saying she will win it, cause i dont think she can, but she has a good chance of a place. A lot of the quality horses this spring are going to the CP. Im not going to back her until the CC. She's better than the likes of Hollow Bullet and Dizelle, who cant hold their heads above water, little own win a decent race. | | Post a reply to this message. |
Author: camel56 Timestamp:- 25/9/2006 8:02:56 PM Subject: Re: Serenade Rose Message: Wortel - yes she won both Oaks. Sadly, the fillies she beat have subsiquently struggled in midweek class 3s. She is no hope in a Caulfield Cup. Group 3s or mares races are her go. | | Post a reply to this message. |
Author: iglesia Timestamp:- 25/9/2006 6:01:20 PM Subject: Re: Serenade Rose Message: The problem with that list, MediaCentral, is that, while the horses in question didn't go on to do a great deal, it doesn't address whether it was lack of ability or other problems that were to blame; for instance, Special Harmony beat Shamekha and Ike's Dream in her last win, and both those fillies went on to be outstanding open company performers | | Post a reply to this message. |
Author: Mr Lister Timestamp:- 25/9/2006 5:07:24 PM Subject: Re: Serenade Rose Message: Afternoon all,
Wortel, the fact that she won both Oaks is not really a pointer as to whether she is a strong stayer. She was just simply too good for the other fillies. Mahogany won both Derbies but he was a very good sprinter as an older horse. He was no stayer after his 3yo years. Grand Archway won both Oaks and if her career was not cut short after only 2 starts as a 4yo I reckon she would have gone the same way as Mahogany.
cheers. | | Post a reply to this message. |
Author: Wortel Timestamp:- 25/9/2006 2:22:31 PM Subject: Re: Serenade Rose Message: Not A Caulfield Cup writeoff yet. She can stay and she proved that by winning BOTH Oaks. When was the last time a filly did that? | | Post a reply to this message. |
Author: Dancing At Ascot Timestamp:- 25/9/2006 1:21:32 PM Subject: Re: Serenade Rose Message: Agree with lister, 2000+ does look to be her go but there is no chance i would be backing her in any open group ones. Wouldn't mind to be proven wrong but can't see her winning say a Turnbull or Caufield/Melb Cup which she is most likely to be running in. | | Post a reply to this message. |
Author: Mr Lister Timestamp:- 25/9/2006 12:16:30 PM Subject: Re: Serenade Rose Message: Afternoon all,
2000m has always been her go so I would wait until she races over that trip at least before sacking her. I won't be backing her in anything though.
cheers. | | Post a reply to this message. |
