Ah yes, another lion loss on the weekend. What excuse or complaint will they come out with this week, crowd too noisy? football too leathery? GO THE BLOODS!

Windy, the rodent suggested that his beloved laboratory lions have dominated for 2 1/2 years. I think for a side to dominate they must at least dominate the H+A season and finish clearly on top, they haven't despite bigger salary cap, extra home games and very dubiuos medical practises. I would hardly say they have dominated this year either. They had a very good year last year! So what? Plenty of teams have good years. If any side has dominated in the last 5 years it is clearly Essendon. Their brilliance penalised with the loss of Hardwick, Heffernan, Blumfield and Caracella etc etc. Take 5 or so premiership players out of the guinnea pigs and they're a diffrent side.

I am a Carlton fan, but I'm still very confident the Lions will win the Premiership. If losing two games in a row makes you a pretender team, then where the hell are the real teams??? In another league perhaps, because every team has had losing streaks (if two games can be called that). How ironic you say the Lions complain. We've heard nothing but complaints from other teams about the Lions for the last three years -- Ice vests, breathing machines, too far to travel (the Lions have to travel the most), too hot (23 bloody degrees and it's too hot? good grief, give me a break. Every reason under the sun given why they are winning (except for the obvious - they are a bloody good team).
Now that the Lions players make a legitimate complaint (one, by the way, that the southern media have been making for last two years, as well as players from other teams, including James Hird last week, and after watching the games on the weekend how could you argue).
If you've bothered listening to what Matthews has been saying since the game you'd hear him say what anyone with any knowledge of the game has been saying - West Coast flogged them all over the ground on the day, their midfield was red hot, and they deserved the big win. It does happen in football. And if you think a couple of losses is going to make any team coached by Leigh Matthews drop their head, then you're in for a rude awakening. They will come back hard and hungry after the break. Probably the best thing that could have happened to them.
P.S. Who gives a rats who finished on top? It's forgotten before the kick off of the next season. I say we sit back and enjoy what will be a cracker of a second half of the season.

Don't underestimate the Lions - take a player like Voss out and any side will struggle!!
I don't understand your reference to minor premiers SH - last year it was Port, the 3 years prior Essendon who'll struggle to make the 8 - what's this got to do with the argument?!

As I've said earlier they have got Essendon 2001 written all over them. They have been going through the motions all season and now teams realise that they are beatable.
West Coast look super at the moment and Port are very impressive especially with all the injuries they have.
Wonder if people still underestimate WCE. Got $3.30 yesterday which was a gift considering their midfield is the best in the comp. Gardiner, Cousins, Kerr and Judd are all special players, especially Judd. He could be anything.

Wouldn't get too excited about the Lions losing 2 in a row. Still the ones to beat come September as we all know what choke artists Port are.

I am a Lions fan and was at the game yesterday, and I would call the game a good old fashioned flogging. The Lions got beaten in every department by a team that obviously showed up ready to play.
I still think the Lions will win the flag, but they will have to play a lot better than they have for the last month.
