A perfect round in this comp (winning team and margin) will score you 14 points so we have some pretty impressive efforts in round 1. Many had the Sea Eagles as a trump and paid for it.
The ever-consistent Develop leads the way from a peloton brimming with online talent. Still plenty of time for anyone to take this comp by the scruff of the neck and give it a decent shake.
N.B in fairness to Jakman, if anyone wishes to join the comp before kick-off in Round 2 they will need to start off -0.5 point.
Develop +10.5 The Mighty Quinn +10 Big Daddy +9.5 Jet +9.5 Suhlmann +9 Sinatra +8 MoiMoi +7.5 Mitch +7 Todman +6.5 Mole +5.5 Doosie +5 Young Stud +4.5 Raw Instinct +4.5 JMF +3.5 Lance Barnard +3 JD +3 Urger +3 Brownie +3 Spinning Knight +2 The Rat +1.5 Karnage +0.5 Jakman -0.5
If you notice a scoring error by all means let me know. It’s my first day.

I pick 6 out of the 8 games correctly. Guess which 2 I made my trumps?

I went back to the original thread to see what I said or, in this case, didn't say.
Your trump selection entitles you to bonus points for your selection only, but not for the margin.
Therefore:
if your trump wins and you select the correct margin, you get two points for tipping the winner plus half a point for tipping the margin (a total of 2.5)
if your trump wins and you select the incorrect margin, you still get the two points, but miss out on the half point bonus (a total of 2)
if your trump loses, two points are deducted from your total, regardless of the margin you proposed.
Therefore the maximum score in any round is 14
2.5 points in two games (your trumps) 1.5 points in the remaining six games
I've tried to weight things in a way that I deem important, and I think tipping the winner should be weighted more heavily than tipping the margin.
That said, the ability to select margins is a valuable one, given the betting types available on this sport...so I wanted to include some sort of margin selection in this comp.
clear as mud no doubt....apologies for not making that absolutely clear initially.
feel free to throw questions my way as you see fit
cheers Moley

If not for those disappointing Sea Eagles I'd be....oops that's right, I'm not supposed to care. Lol
Don't worry Brownie, no-one ever won a Melbourne Cup in the first 50m - it's a long season. | | Post a reply to this message. |

Are you sure that a perfect round is 14? Hell it's your comp so if you say it is then so it is, but is it so?
Winning Teams by 8 matches by 1 point = 8 Winning margins by 8 matches by .5 = 4
2 Trump doubles by 1.5 points = 3
Total = 15
Not that it will affect me throughout the year.
