BUT septimus had a bit of class about him and given the pace would be on i thought hed make the frame and his stamina would come into play .. Didnt realise hed be setting the suicidal pace and not take a sit..
If you want to keep harping on about septimus i have every right to keep harping on about all the goods easy win in the 2400m G1 caulfield cup.. | | Post a reply to this message. |

It never ceases to amaze me how forumites will only attack what suits their own argument. Axl compared Purple Moon's run in the Japan Cup with his effort in last years MC. Fact is the MC is 3200m and the JC is 2400m.
The more pertinent comparison is Purple Moon in last years CC with this years JC-both over 2400m.He was beaten close to 7 lengths in the CC and close to 4 in the JC. | | Post a reply to this message. |
Author: gab Timestamp:- 4/12/2008 10:32:11 AM Subject: Re: Japan Cup Message: Patsy,
Zarkava was a wonder 3yo filly winning a weak Arc. Shame she won't run as a 4yo mare where we could see whether she is the real deal or just a very fast maturer like Miss Finland who couldn't continue in the top grade as she turned 4. Why you would want to compare All The Good with Zarkava is beyond me. All The Good won a weak Caulfield Cup. And yes it was weaker than the Arc and weaker than the Japan Cup. | | Post a reply to this message. |
Author: maccamax Timestamp:- 4/12/2008 1:16:16 AM Subject: Re: Japan Cup Message: Patsy....Different conditions play tricks. Septimus 100 yards behind as predicted. The tactics were pre planned. Set the sizzling pace and run these 2nd graders into the ground with this dour 400m stayer. Fell on their sword...Melbourne Cup qualifiers arent maidens cantering around on a Sunday picnic as happened in the I.L. Your original opinion of Septimus did an about face. Now you jump on another wagon. | | Post a reply to this message. |
Author: patsy fagan Timestamp:- 3/12/2008 9:32:51 PM Subject: Re: Japan Cup Message: so what yr saying gab is that a handicapper from england called ALL THE GOOD, a horse that had never contested a group race, who won the caulfield cup with very little pull in the weights is good enough to win the japan cup over 2400m? He wouldnt get within a dozen lengths of zarkava.. | | Post a reply to this message. |

Good to see that once again you avoided the main point of my previous post and that is MC=3200m and Japan Cup=2400.
Once you get off the job, put your brain to work on that. | | Post a reply to this message. |
Author: Axl_Rose Timestamp:- 1/12/2008 2:58:25 PM Subject: Re: Japan Cup Message: ROFL Now I have heard it all. "Not much difference between horses worldwide" thats why the Japanese ran 1-2 in the Melbourne cup on their 2nd trip down. Plod Plod off you go bag. | | Post a reply to this message. |
Author: gab Timestamp:- 1/12/2008 9:38:47 AM Subject: Re: Japan Cup Message: Axl-get a racing education. The MC is 3200m, the Japan Cup is 2400m. Purple Moon was beaten about the same distance in the Caulfield Cup last year as he was in the Japan Cup this year, both over 2400m. That makes the Japan Cup the equivalent of the Caulfield Cup. Once you guys realise that there isn't that much difference between horses around the world the better you will be on the punt.
Anyway, get back to performing the anagram of your name on Pinky. | | Post a reply to this message. |

"After the disgrace of this years Melbourne Cup, the Japan Cup has thrown up a similar result, showing the decline of racing world wide. The winner Screen hero was an open class horse with his best form on synthetic tracks. His last start win on grass was an open class-a bit like the SAAB Quality in Melbourne. What a joke!"

'Back onya bike Bozo' - Thomas Hardy will be invoicing you, posthumously, for that flash of brilliance no doubt. It's far too clever to be your own work.

Interesting if they back up in the Arima Kinen. If so, I'll bet against them and go for the Nakayama specialist Matsurida Gogh. He's been sparingly raced this year and today's run should top him off nicely. Stick with him bigdaddy. | | Post a reply to this message. |

Farmer, That's a bit rich coming from a clown who wades into a breeding forum discussion about the value of Samantha Miss, and starts talking about the contractual arrangements of Herman Munster. LOL
