Subject: The blues are on the run

Message:
It’s no use I can’t do humility. I know the truth, so I'm rearranging it one last time. Madam memory is a great dissembler, I never said Carlton would win the premiership this year; they’re getting back a few car lengths to take a run at 2013.

Scotland has one year left, Waite is an aging beef-cake crock who can go again, just, and Judd to squeeze in one more top year at a pinch, or a gouge or a pressure point.

I don’t want to judge him as anything other than a coach: woeful. The bags under his eyes tell me he knows it’s over, so Malthouse in, Rattern out. Make your way to the performance area Mick, and remind me that it doesn’t matter how long ago 1995 was, it’s only what comes next that counts. That means Cloke wants his old coach back and that will give the three amigos something to kick to when they’re not kicking them themselves.

Aside from a win over Essendon ~ a payback certainty, zero shackles, I have no joy coming up on the park this year. That leaves the greys and the bays which is fun enough when your luck’s on the up.

I want cash for a tattoo, my wife needs a purse to match her shoes, the kids have three birthdays a year, but the odds are a juicy 13.5, so Jobe Watson for the Charlie and Hawthorn for the flag. I’ll be shouted down by the flat-earthers, but there you have it, straight out thievery, get on. So much for the line between gambling and investing.

It would kill me to go back to losing.

Had to laugh while watching 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire' yesterday.
One of the questions was 'Who Wrote Crime And Punishment?'.
Two of the four suggested answers were Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky and the woman in the hot-seat choose, Tolstoy.

She had to be one of LostaClue's former students. LOL

I'm now after your learned opinion LC - can we still dream of a Hawks/Cats GF this year?

I am finding the whole Malthouse saga fascinating.

Collingwood people have decided he is a mongrel, even though the probable truth is that he was pushed out of his job against his best wishes.

Carlton people have always thought he was a mongrel and now have to come to terms with the fact he has lobbed on their doorstep amid a cloud of bitterness and spite.

I have one Carlton mate who has been very vocal for a long time in regards his hatred for Eddie and Mick and all things Collingwood. Another mate who is Collingwood has plastered the Carlton guys Facebook wall with pictures of Malthouse and Swann and even Gavin Brown asking what he now thinks of his beloved Blues.

The Carlton friend responded with a tirade against Malthouse and his character, hoped that he would be afforded the same friendly treatment Ratten got should a similar injury crisis hit the club again and signed off with, "I'm out". He's given the Blues the lemonade and sars.

What happens if the Pies bow out in straight sets this week? Will Nathan Buckley cop the wrath of Pies fans? I doubt it. All I'm hearing from them is what a pr... Malthouse is.

Seems nobody likes him.

Wonderous stuff.

The ninthmond of the forum reaches new heights of wit (apologies to Tigers' fans). I guess we should be somewhat thankful that he's stopped correcting (often incorrectly, as the cyber history of this forum will show) other people's speiling and gramma.

After the virtual belting he's received from MD recently this seems perfectly apt: http://wtfcontent.com/wtf-9203.html

I, too, am not that thrilled about Malthouse going to Carlton - but for different reasons. As a Richmond fan, I see the best in the business going to a former arch-rival (I say former because we have been far too poor to have any rivals in recent memory) while the Tigers stumble along with a rookie coach who was taken them all the way to 12th in three years at the helm.

It stood out a long time ago Doosra: Malthouse and Cloke.

Collingwood put two bulls in the one paddock and surrendered a premiership.

Thanks for your massive judgement Eddie. That has got to be the worst executive decision in my memory.

It's been lies for over 12 months now. You can bet your @rse that Mick was on thier radar as soon as Ling kicked that goal on the GF last year, if not sooner. Footy clubs & journos, they all lie, treat us punters as mugs & with no respect.

Maybe you're right MD. I wasn't comfortable with the Milne incident, not that I'm a Milne fan I can't stand the little rat - but clearly Mick lied then. In fact now that I think about it, that was the moment where my previously unshakable confidence in the Malthouse brand of integrity started to waver.

As a Pies fan, I could have forgiven Mick ending up at Carlton - after all, he's a career coach and if he changed his mind about retirement and decided to join forces with the traditional rival... well that just adds a bit more spice to the contests between the two clubs.

I would even have forgiven "I could never coach against my boys" (Mick Malthouse 2011) morphing into - not only will I coach against them, I will coach their most bitter rival and while I'm at it I will attempt to destroy the entire structure of their team by poaching their key forward ( Mick Malthouse 2012)

It would have been galling... but perhaps just another example of the society we currently live in.... with Mick riding the zeitgeist of this there-will-be-no-carbon-tax-under-the-government-I-lead era of self-serving insincerity.

But with his conduct the last few months Mick has just gone beyond the pale. And sad to say, your description "lying narcissist" seems to sum it up pretty well MD.

Both Collingwood and Carlton supporters have good reason to be incensed, for different reasons.

Well, it's done now and there's no going back.

Doos - you're showing how one-eyed you are there. I didn't hold much of an opinion of Mick at Collingwood - he was a lying (eg the Milne incident) narcissist then, and nothing has changed. I'm disgusted at my club.

Plenty of love Doosra.

Plenty of lying, storytelling wanakers too but they are rather incidental and irrelevant in the scheme of things.

I'm going for the Swans now.

Johnny Longmire is a favourite son of North after all.

I'm filthy on Malthouse right now. Couldn't the worst kept secret in footy aka the Carlton coaching announcement have waited, after all this time?

It's the day after a young player who was once one of "his boys" dies in tragic circumstances. The AFL community is in shock and mourning, in particular McCarthy's friends and team mates at Port and Collingwood.

But no Mick, it's all about you as per usual.

Is he going after Cloke? "Absolutely" he says.

I will always be grateful to Mick for the success he took Collingwood to, but after the obfuscation, self-serving spin and outright LIES that have come out of his mouth the last few weeks.....well, for a very long time I have regarded Mick Malthouse as a person of high integrity and principle.

I no longer hold that opinion.

You can cr@p on about "the honour of coaching" all you like Mick, the fact is you have revealed your true colours..... and Carlton are welcome to you.

The Pies always did the right thing by you, stuck by you and no matter how you try to spin it now to make yourself look less utterly egomaniacal and Machiavellian, it was YOU who broke the Collingwood contract.......and please don't continue to insult the intelligence of anyone with more brain cells than a snail by maintaining this BS line about your innocence in the demise of Ratten and other coaches, when talks were held etc etc etc etc

Not even a particularly stupid snail is dense enough to buy this load of codswallop.

Now it's war.

May the mighty Pies smash the bejeezus out of your Blues every time they meet for the next three years.

Lol yes I'm sure we do Lister.

You are a good friend visiting your mates in hospital. I do find it endearing the way blokes show their affection for one another by giving each other heaps :)

So there must be a lot of love on this forum actually!

Thanks Doosra.

All is not lost. I did tell my mates this morning that despite Norths horrible demise I still had the comfort of watching Collingwood meet their fate very soon as well.

We had differing opinions of what that fate may be as I'm sure you and I do. :)

You might note Lc, that I recently said North had hit the wall.

You might also note that I selected the Eagles 37 plus.

The forum might note how childish you are.

Fairdinkum. You're in strife if that's what you dish up on a Monday morning. Must have been a corker of a weekend.

I had a couple of beers after the game and today I'm going to visit two mates in hospital. Both barrack for Collingwood, one in a life threatening situation the other not so.

We'll talk footy, they will be very pleased I don't have the ammo to stir them up. No doubt they will stick it to me. All you can do is smile. It's a game.

Appears as though you are the one gloating. Get a grip on reality.
