Subject: Geelong v St Kilda

Message:
A couple of weeks ago, Geelong had a miraculous win against the Hawks. Then after the match we heard from that forumite with as much spine as a worm. He told us all how he backed the Cats and he was as excited as a kid in the biscuit barrell.

After last weeks loss we heard nothing from that person, tufnel. Surprise, surprise, surprise and surprise.

So this thread is designed to get an opinion on the outcome of Geelong games pre match and perhaps he could name his bet strategy for the game. Perhaps. Knowing tufnel he will cut and paste something totally irrelevant like he did today to my Olympic thread. Or maybe he won't appear at all. That is likely.

Tufnel tell the forum, before the game, what will be the outcome of the Cats v Saints in round 21.

Folks, this will be a regular weekly feature for all Geelongs remaining games in 2012. Well it will if I have anything to do with it.

Next week look for the Geelong v Western Bulldogs post and then Geelong v Sydney the week after.

So tufnel your tip and your bet strategy is....

Bartels' goal was the sealer IMO. Varcoe's goal sheer gut wrenching running, Ling's goal - the best icing on the cake ever. i could watch that game very day :-)

More gold from L.H.M.

"When the Grand Final was slipping away......"

When was that again?

What was the biggest lead Collingwood got out to?

Here's a question for you: how many of the Geelong 22 who played plus the mob in the box ever doubted their chances in the run?

I know. Do you?

Stop presuming. Stop assuming. Get some evidence. Deal in facts.

Sorry - that's probably too much for you to deal with in one hit.

Go lie down and have a bit of a think. And shut up while you're at it.

Get your own ducks in a row you goose.

2011 AFL Grand Final: Last quarter goals.

Johnson [Hawkins handball]
Varcoe [three involvements in the one play]
Bartel [Mark on 50m line]
Johnson [J-curve kick from Jolly OOB hitout free kick]
Ling [Handball from.....Varcoe]

The clutch goal wasn't from a 50cm handball; it wasn't from a free kick; and Lingy's was the icing on a cake which had already had its candles extinguished.

Thus we have Jimmy's mark and kick from 50m or Travis Varcoe's three effort goal. You call it yourself, Mr Expert. The rest of us know who and what you are - and what drives you.

Then do us all a favour. Shut up.

"That's your story too, tufnel. And lostaclue."

More airswings than a 64 handicapper playing out of wet sand in a hailstorm. And who is this new member 'lostaclue' that he's apparently now also waved the white flag at?

I can't speak for others in his imagined cabal of antagonists but seriously fellow members, you have to admit that LHM's contributions are entertainment to the max. He's like a perpetual piņata, although all-day sucker is probably a more apt description.

Please never leave the forum white feather. We'd be lost without you.

Tufnel as a white wall. It's necessary.

Blase really. Geelong63 has been doing it for an age, it feels like. Now there's obsession, like an insane squirrel hoarding nuts for no ice-age on the geological horizon.

Block me and end the pain? No, not really, given the personality type. Individual safety is no match for vanity dependent on fed curiosity.

The insatiable self-absorption to believe anyone can put me out like the cat.

Try inboxing me any moment in the next 20 years.

That's your story too, tufnel. And lostaclue.

True, if only they differed from me and gave him another game.

When the Grand Final was slipping away it was Selwood and Bartel not Varcoe, as one would expect.

Varcoe goes near the ball when it's safe to do so.

The game is won, and it's okay for him to do what the Hell he wants. Sounds like the euphoria of a premiership win.

2008 was very different accountability.

Get your ducks in a row.

Exactly salamander. What a magnificent individual effort at the most crucial time of the most important game of the year. It's there for everybody to see.

As it happened I actually laughed out loud thinking of poor sad stup1d Lost His Marbles.

But he can't let go. Trav hasn't played a minute of top level footy since, but we're supposed to have forgotten this goal ever happened in the meantime. Are we stup1d to have remembered? Not likely. The really stup1d person is the one who expects people to believe what he says just because he said it. Ridiculous.

Nothing more pathetic than an opinionated goose hanging on to his bias for all its worth.

"I see Mackie pulled out last night when the last quarter was tight. It's not the first time... and Varcoe did it every week."

After the 45-odd seconds of super-human, gut-busting, class-personified perfection at about the 8 minute mark of the last quarter of last year's grand final, when things were arguably also a bit "tight", Travis Varcoe can do whatever the hell he likes.

No Squid, we're all wrong. He can't play.

Your information (even though it comes from the Geelong coaches' box) is wrong.

Lost His Marbles said so. Even though his execution of the role he is given is working (with Hawkins the main beneficiary), he's still (according to LHM) "the most over rated player in the AFL.

So there.

Interesting story I read about J-Pod this morning, it appears his role is more about creating space for the Tomahawk, to allow him more one on one contests. Given the form Tommy is in, not a bad tactic.

I am willing to give Pods the benefit of the doubt.

So it's Hawthorn now.

Oh well, at least one of his three (although I may have lost count) 2012 Premiership nominations to date will actually make the finals.

Indeed, an imposing tipping record - with dozens of cr@p-filled essays to boot.

One of khrapper's lieutenant 'wanakers' in his prime, folks.

I don't disagree with some of your points LC. Geelong are nowhere near the team they were last year but this year is the most open in years... They don't have to be as strong as they have been, but, yes, they are up against it, as is any team 5-8..

Marbine, I think Geelong has a few weaknesses. Scarlett is for the first time letting you down. Did you see his disposals last night? I can tell you one thing: he won't be talked out of retirement.

A more persistent weakness is Podsiadly. The number of times he gets his hands on the ball is one thing, holding critical marks is another.

They're all a year older when many were already old enough.

I doubt they will be there Grand Final day, it feels like 2010 all over again. Either Hawthorn or Collingwood will put you away, but good luck to you. I wish you well.
