Message:
I would be interested to know how many people use all up betting as part of their regular punting strategy.

I had an all up win & place bet on saturday with 3 horses I liked at Ascot. The first 2 won at nice odds (3.80 & 6.70), however the 3rd leg (Finito) which was supposedly the less risky one ran fifth. A cruel result...

I once had a four horse allup bet of $250. After three races it was over $20,000. The 4th selection was paying about $8 and ran 8th.

Thank god i had individual bets as well, otherwise the pain would have been too much.

It's not everyday you're looking at turning $250 into $160,000 in a matter of hours.

I've never placed a 4 horse allup bet since.

I use the all up fairly regularly.
mixing the place and win. I think the same frustratoins apply to everyone here, your first two get up and the third bombs. when you collect though it is good money for a small outlay.

I enjoy allups as well but found it frustrating with results such as you mention. I changed my format to cover such frustrations. On sat I had a 4 horse all up in Brisb. As well as the win all up I also took place all ups. All bets for a dollar. Then to cover myself I bet $5 win on the 4 selections and also coupled them in all up doubles for $5. I secured 2 winners.... A close second but to top it all off my last selection which I thought was the strongest.....Smart Chariot..ran unplaced. If it had won I would have collected $880 extra and if it had of placed $280. Because I covered the selections I still doubled my outlay but missed the cream.
