Friday, 3 April 2009: Melbourne Storm have firmed into outright favouritism for the 2009 NRL Premiership after a TAB Sportsbet customer invested $26,000 on them this morning at $6.

The Storm have contested the last 3 NRL Grand Finals winning in 2007. They opened as a $4.50 chance for the 2009 season behind 2008 premiers Manly ($4) before drifting to as much as $6.50 after going down 16-14 to Brisbane in round 2.

The bet of $26,000 is the largest single investment taken on Melbourne this year but still sees them behind Nth Qld, St George Illawarra, Brisbane, Newcastle and Bulldogs in terms of dollars taken to win the premiership.

Melbourne are now $5.50 favourites from Brisbane $6 with defending premiers Manly, still looking for their first win of 2009, out to $7.
