Thursday, 23 April 2009: TAB Sportsbet punters have launched a mammoth plunge on Penrith this afternoon with money coming strongly for them in their Monday Night Football clash with Gold Coast but also to make the final 8 in season 2009.
The plunge was led by a $50,000 wager @ $5 for Penrith to make the final 8. They currently sit outside of the 8 on four points and meet competition leaders Gold Coast on Monday Night.
In that Monday night match Penrith have been the subject of a pluge as well.
Bets of $40,000 @ $2.05 and $20,000 @ $2 were taken on them to win the match along with $20,000 @ $1.85, $5000 @ $1.80 and $3,500 @ $1.75 all on the Panthers at the +2.5 point line.
Bets taken yesterday include $6,000 and $5,000 @ $1.85 +2.5
Doubts over Titans co-captain Luke Bailry no doubt added to the punters confidence.
The sides have met once at CUA Stadium with the Titans getting home 24-22 in 2007.
