Saturday, 11 August 2012:

Dumped Test batsman Phil Hughes will join the Australia A squad in England after Peter Forrest was forced out of the tour with a minor side strain.

Australia A plays their last match of the tour of England against the England Lions starting on Tuesday at Edgbaston.

Cricket Australia rehabilitation manager Kevin Sims said the decision was made to send Forrest home so he could best prepare for the season ahead, with left-hander Hughes to be his replacement.

"Peter sustained a minor side-strain in the match against the England Lions at Old Trafford and with only one match remaining we have decided to send him home to prepare for the up-coming season," Sims said.

Meanwhile, Australia captain Michael Clarke announced Australia and Australia A sides for an intra-squad one-day match to be played at Marrara Cricket Ground on Sunday in Darwin.

Australia: David Warner, Matthew Wade, Michael Clarke (capt), Mike Hussey, David Hussey, George Bailey, Glenn Maxwell, Clint McKay, Mitch Starc, Brad Hogg, Xavier Doherty, Michael Beer (12th)

Australia A: Nic Maddinson, Brad Haddin (capt), Callum Ferguson, Steve Smith, Cameron White, Mitch Marsh, Steve O'Keefe, Jason Krejza, Nathan Hauritz, Ben Hilfenhaus, Cameron Boyce, Luke Robins (12th)
