Caviar Can Make Timeform History

Friday, 22 June 2012: Hot on the heels of Frankel proving himself the best there has been in Timeform's experience, unbeaten Australian superstar, Black Caviar, gets the chance to show that she's the best filly or mare in Timeform's history.

Black Caviar currently has a Timeform rating of 136, putting her on level terms with Allez France and Habibti, but on Saturday in the six-furlong Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot Peter Moody's mare has the potential to take her rating even higher and surpass those two illustrious names.

Head of Timeform Australia Gary Crispe is fully expecting Black Caviar to increase her winning streak to 22, but not only that, he expects her to do it easily, commenting: "I've seen all of the Australian sprinters who have come over to win at the meeting in recent years and she's at least 10 lengths better than any of those. I've no doubt she deserves to be the sort of price that she is."

Opposition to Black Caviar on Saturday is headed by Freddie Head's Moonlight Cloud (126) and James Fanshawe's Society Rock (124), winner of the race last year. However, Black Caviar has little to fear according to Timeform ratings and Chief Correspondent Jamie Lynch is looking forward to seeing what she can do, "This first chance to judge her in direct competition with top sprinters from a different Hemisphere should tell us a lot more about just how brilliant she really is."
