KEMBLA GRANGE January 3


Race 7: Savethelastdance – co-trainer John Hawkes reported that the mare had bled from both nostrils for the first time following its disappointing performance. Hawkes was advised that Savethelastdance would now incur the mandatory three month ban from racing.

RANDWICK January 1

Race 1: Bull Market – whilst the stable was satisfied with the post race condition of Bull Market, the horse in their view had reached the end of its preparation and will now be spelled.

RANDWICK – December 30

Race 8: Chatelard – trainer Chris Waller concurred with the views of rider G Schofield and advised that he was satisfied with the post-race condition of the gelding. He indicated the intention is to step Chatelard up in distance at its next start.

Race 9: Savatiano – stable representative Darren Beadman advised that, whilst the filly had performed below expectations in this race, he believed that two factors had a bearing on its finishing position, namely that the filly had to improve in the early stages to offset racing wide and without cover and also that the three-year-old filly was competing against older mares and was up in class in metropolitan grade. Beadman said, whilst he was satisfied with the post-race condition of Savatiano, the filly will now be spelled.

Race 9: Arrondissement – trainer Danny Williams reported that the mare was showing signs of being in season, however, given the horse’s poor performance the Stewards advised Williams that Arrondissement must barrier trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to racing again.

RANDWICK – December 26

Race 8: Dawn Raid – trainer John O'Shea advised he was satisfied with the post-race condition of the gelding and the intention is to continue with its preparation.

VICTORIA

YARRA VALLEY January 9

Race 8: Miss Skeptical - trainer Matthew Brown advised that the filly had pulled up slightly sore in the near hind leg and would now be sent for a spell.

KILMORE January 8

Race 1: Tilbury - co-trainer Trent Busuttin advised that following the disappointing performance connections are considering retiring the filly.

WARRNAMBOOL January 7

Race 7: Great Southern - the Weir stable advised that following the disappointing performance the gelding would now be retired.

CAULFIELD January 7

Race 2: Fontein Lad - the Eurell stable advised that the gelding had pulled up well and it was now their intention to continue on with its current preparation.

Race 3: Lucky Cat - the Weir stable advised that the filly had pulled up well and it was to continue on with the current preparation over more ground.

Race 8: I’m Ablaze - trainer Wendy Kelly advised that the gelding had pulled up well and it was the intention to continue on with its current preparation.

CRANBOURNE January 5

Race 8: Schnoozer - co-trainer Trent Busuttin advised that the gelding had pulled up with general soreness and that it was now the stables intention to spell the gelding.

STAWELL January 5

Race 7: Hard Empire - the Weir stable advised that the gelding had pulled up well however would now be spelled.

Race 8: Hot Girl Wanted - trainer Nick Ryan advised that the filly had pulled up well however would be given a brief freshen up.
