Niall Dispersal At Oaklands Junction

A disposal through Greendale Trust of the bloodstock owned by the late Victorian breeder MD Niall will be a feature of the next Oaklands Junctions sale on August 25.

The consignment on behalf of Niall makes up 24 of the 63 lots in the broodmare section of the sale and includes daughters of Tapit, El Prado, Shamardal, Danehill and Rahy. In other sections are fillies by Pierro, Equiano, High Chaparral, Congrats and More Than Ready.

Nine of the 12 yearlings catalogued were bred by Niall and eight of these are fillies including daughters of The Factor, Uncle Mo, Puissance de Lune and Master of Design.

Five of the Niall mares are believed to be in foal to Trust In The Gust, who started his sire career last year at Swettenham Stud.

Swettenham mares on offer on August 25 include daughters of Encosta de Lago, Dehere, Manhattan Rain, Redoute’s Choice, Nicconi, Scenic and Stravinsky.

The Redoute’s Choice mare Lanesborough is a three-quarter sister to Blackfriars and another by Dehere is related to I Am Invincible.

Godolphin have 23 females catalogued who have not been to stud and will also offer 25 geldings in the racehorse section.

Another lot of interest is Bel Air Miss, the only mare in the catalogue by Bel Esprit and nearly a three-quarter sister to Black Caviar.

The sale will be preceded by a parade of stallions making their debut in Victoria this spring.

The stallions parading are Palentino, St Jean, Rebel Dane, Texarcana, Mshawish, Honorius, Wolf Cry, Last Typhoon, Swear, Wayed Zain and Coroebus.
