Last Typhoon, the only foal of the former Australian Horse of the Year Typhoon Tracy, will start his stud career this spring in Victoria.

A six time G1 winner, Typhoon Tracy was crowned Australian Horse of the Year in 2009/2010.

Sadly Typhoon Tracy died foaling Last Typhoon, who wil take up stud duties this spring at Bullarook Park Stud.


Breeder John Hutchins retained Last Typhoon to race despite the son of Street Cry attracting keen bidding at the 2014 Easter Yearling Sale where he was passed in for a hefty $2.1 million.

Last Typhoon Horseform showed ability with two wins and three placings from just 11 starts.

Bullarook 's Malcolm Boyd is delighted with the way Last Typhoon is settling in at the Avenel property.

Typhoon Tracy Horseform, by Red Ransom, won the G1 Coolmore Classic, G1 Myer Classic, consecutive runnings of the G1 C.F Orr Stakes, the G1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes and the G1 Futurity Stakes when trained by Peter Moody.

She won $2.4 million from 11 wins in her 20 starts with a further five placings.

The sire of 109 stakes winners, the late Red Ransom is excelling as a broodmare sire with his daughters to date producing 108 stakes winners.

The cross of Street Cry with Red Ransom has produced eight winners from just nine runners.

Street Cry's overall stats are exceptional. Whilst his northern hemisphere strike rate of 64% is good, his southern hemisphere record of 73.6% winners-to-runners is much better.

He boasts an 8.6% southern hemisphere stakes winner to runner strike rate and 8.1% in the northern hemisphere.

The sire of 110 stakes winners, Street Cry is a proven sire of sires with Per Incanto, Shocking, Street Boss and Street Sense all siring Australasian G1 winners.

Last Typhoon is a grandson of Tracy's Element (Last Tycoon), a four time G1 winner in South Africa and dam of nine winners including Typhoon Tracy's dual stakes winning full brother Red Element.

She is a daughter of the G3 winning sprinter Princess Tracy, one of the great broodmares of the 1990s.

Princess Tracy produced four other stakes winners - Stradbroke Handicap winner and successful stallion Danasinga; South African G2 winner Topsannah and G3 perfoemers Cullen and Towkay.

And she is grandam of the G1 winners Fatal Attraction, Master Of Design and Suntagonal.
