First Foal For Rare Mare
The Opera House, who made headlines as the only pure white thoroughbred filly sold at auction in Australia, has produced her first foal.
Unlike her dam, the filly foal, born at Vinery Stud, is a bay by Big Brown.
The Opera House, by Zabeel, was purchased by John Singleton at the 2008 Magic Millions for $280,000 and was in the spotlight from the time she was born because of her rare pigmentation and pedigree, being a three-quarter sister to champion galloper Might And Power.
Trained by Kris Lees, she recorded one provincial win and five placings before she suffered a leg injury and was retired.
