Bel Esprit First To 100
Bel Esprit became the first stallion to reach 100 winners this season after his champion mare Black Caviar won the G1 Lightning Stakes at Flemington last Saturday.
Bel Esprit has been represented by 101 winners this season, including four at stakes level, and is four winners in front of Exceed And Exce, whose 227 runners have yielded 97 winners.
Encosta De Lago is next on 92 winners, with Lonhro and More Than Ready next on 90 winners apiece.
The only change this week among the top 10 on the leading sire by winners table saw Stratum move to ninth place, with Testa Rossa falling to tenth.
Commands is still the leading sire in Australia by earnings, with Fastnet Rock, Lonhro, Redoute’s Choice and Montjeu still making up the top five.
Commands is also the leading 3YO sire in Australia by earnings, with no change to the top five of Fastnet Rock, Redoute’s Choice, Casino Prince and Lonhro.
Redoute’s Choice is still the leading 3YO sire by winners ahead of More Than Ready. Fastnet Rock has moved to third place after another winner, taking his total to 30, with Exceed And Excel falling to sixth from third.
General Nediym is now fourth, with Choisir fifth.
The leading 2YO sire by earnings is still Real Saga, who is also the leading first season sire by earnings.
Exceed And Excel is now in second place on the leading 2YO table by earnings with Charge Forward falling to third.
The leading 2YO sire by winners is Exceed And Excel, with last week’s leader Not A Single Doubt now second and Choisir third.
Sebring falls to fourth from second last week but he is still the leading first season sire by winners.
O’Reilly’s domination in New Zealand continues this week as leading sire by earnings and winners, as well as the leading 3YO sire by earnings and winners.
There are no changes to the leading sire’s overall top five but Stratum has moved to third place in the leading 3YO sires table by earnings, with Holy Roman Emperor falling to fifth.
In the NZ 2YO sire by earnings table, the leader is still Bernardini with no change in the top five.
There is also no change in the leading NZ 2YO sires by winners table, with Tale Of The Cat leading.
Sakhee’s Secret is the leading first season sire by earnings and winners.
