It was anticipated that Animal Kingdom's progeny would relish Flemington's big stretches and Royal Phoenix confirmed that with his effort over 1100m on Saturday.

Royal Phoenix Horseform and fellow dead-heater Andaz joined serious battle 250m. Royal Phoenix extended impressively to take the lead before Andaz fought back to level up right on the line.

Royal Phoenix is the second foal of Helena Girl, a winning daughter of Commands and also the dam of Macau stakeswinner Sparta (Beneteau).

He's prepared for his ownership group including his breeder Tony Pistikakis by Team Hawkes, who bought him for $240,000 from Arrowfield's 2016 Magic Millions draft.

The Hawkes stable also bought Royal Phoenix's year-younger full brother at this year's Magic Millions Sale and Helena Girl, now in foal to Dundeel, has a weanling filly by Smart Missile.

Dubai World Cup winner Animal Kingdom is now third on the First Season Sires' premiership by winners.

His best performer has been the Group-placed winner Lord Cecil, who ran sixth in Saturday's G1 JJ Atkins at Doomben.

Animal Kingdom also has had six placegetters from a representation of only 14 runners.

Animal Kingdom's second-crop yearlings averaged almost $155,000 at this year’s major yearling sales with a top price of $340,000 was paid by Solis Litt Bloodstock for Arrowfield's filly out of Sammy's Girl.

CLASSY filly Prompt Repsonse, a daughter of Arrowfield’s late sire Beneteau, recorded her second stakes win in the G2 Dane Ripper Stakes at Doomben.

Beneteau left only two crops before his early death. They include 10 stakes winners including G1 VRC Oaks winner Lasqueti Spirit and G3 winners Ocean Embers, Almighty Girl and Purtan.

The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained Prompt Response will now target the G1 Tattersall’s Tiara at Doomben on June 24 with Prompt Response after she beat her stablemate My True Love (Fastnet Rock) and Bonny O’Reilly (O’Reilly).

Prompt Response Horseform was a Listed winner at Sandown last spring and this term had been placed in the G3 PJ Bell Stakes, G3 Hawkesbury Guineas and G3 Dark Jewel Classic prior to Saturday’s win.

Prompt Response (Beneteau x Prompt by Exceed And Excel) took her record to three wins and seven placings from 14 starts and has now earned $537,600.

Her dam Prompt was purchased by Blue Sky Bloodstock for $45,000 at the 2011 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale and has had four foals to race for four winners including Prompt Return (Beneteau), who won the G3 Maribyrnong Plate.

Another of her daughters Diamond Glow (Bel Esprit) was runner up in the Listed Blue Diamond Preview as a juvenile.

Prompt is a half-sister to the stakes placed Montoux (Montjeu) and three other winners from the G2 placed Desert Sun mare Amnesia.

Prompt slipped to Foxwedge and Sizzling in 2014 and 2015 before producing a colt by Dissident last spring.

HINCHINBROOK sired his 11th stakes winner when the Jason Coyle-trained Salsonic landed the G2 Queensland Guineas at Doomben.

Salsonic Horseform (Hinchinbrook x Salsify by Grand Lodge) overcame a slow start to beat Volpino (Foxwedge) and the unluky Niccanova (Nicconi).

A $50,000 yearling purchase by Coyle Salsonic (Hinchinbrook x Salsify by Grand Lodge) has won twice from 15 starts with five placings and earnings of $334,925.

Salsonic’s dam Salsify is a half-sister to the Listed-placed mare Darci Coup (Darci Brahma) and has had seven foals to race for seven winners.

Salsify is from the G2-placed Nimble Feet (Zoffany), a daughter of Listed winner Winter’s Dance (Bogan Road) and a half-sister to G3 winner Dancing Dynamite (Yeats).

Hinchinbrook is also the sire of G1 Caulfield Guineas winner Press Statement and G2 winners Derryn, Whispering Brook, Samara Dancer and Diamond Tathagata.

Race Synopsis: The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained filly Prompt Response followed consistent form in four Group races since resuming with a smart win here in this Group Two race. She was settled nicely in eighth place (between runners) tracking a good pace. Tommy Berry angled into clear running rounding the home turn and she then came with a well-timed run to grab the lead at the 50m before going on to win well. Her stablemate My True Love went to the front, ran along at a good tempo and then fought back gamely in the straight for a very good second. Bonny O’Reilly, who was chasing her sixth successive win, was forced to work from her wide barrier (13) before racing outside the leader from 800m. She challenged at the 300m and then kept fighting on well for a good third after working most of the race. The favourite Raiment settled in seventh place on the rails, got into clear running at the 300m and kept battling on fairly well without threatening for (2.6 lengths) ninth.
