Exciting Debuts By Well Bred Youngsters

Trainer Jason Warren labelled the brilliant Starspangledbanner youngster Brooklyn Hustle as the best two-year-old he has trained after the filly’s astonishing debut win at Moonee Valley.

The striking filly with a blonde mane and tail showed her class, coming from last with a slicing sprint through the field to win running away by two lengths.

Warren said the Rosemount Stud owned filly will have a short freshen at her owner’s property before she is set for the G1 Blue Diamond Stakes at Caulfield in February, a race won by her sire.

“I said she’s good, I just didn’t know how good,” Warren said. “She’s always showed well above average ability and I came here confident.

Brooklyn Hustler is a daughter of the Pivotal mare Joint Aspiration, a Listed winner in the UK and a G3 placegetter.

Joint Aspiration is out of a half-sister to the Listed winner Two Clubs (First Trump), the dam of the G1 Haydock Sprint Cup and dual G2 winner Red Clubs (Red Ransom).

Godolphin added to their growing 2YO strength when the Lonhro filly Athiri made a super Rosehill debut a week after their colt Tassort had won the Golden Gift.

Athiri Horseform is a half-sister to the Listed winner Savatiano (Street Cry) from the winning mare Retsina (Redoute’s Choice).

Retsina is a daughter of the G1 winner Star Shiraz (Sequalo).
