A sibling to Godolphin's Group One winners Astern and Alizee, Tassort Horseform has been elevated him to the top of the early Golden Slipper betting market at $11.

Godolphin trainer James Cummings Horseform  said the colt had been on an upward curve in his work and would now be given a break with the autumn races in mind.

"The horse has been such a relaxed customer up until the point when some pressure started being put on a month ago," Cummings said.

"It is no doubt this race had a lot of build-up and he did well to pull away."

Tassort was only the fourth starter by Brazen Beau, a son of I Am Invincible, and boasts a pedigree worthy of a Golden Slipper Stakes winner.

Tassort’s dam Essaouira is by Exceed And Excel and has produced five winners including the G1 Golden Rose Stakes winner Astern (Medaglia D’Oro) and the G1 Flight Stakes and G1 Queen of the Turf Stakes winner Alizee (Sepoy).

Essaouira is a daughter of the G2 winner Alizes (Rory’s Jester). A Magic Night Stakes winner, Alizes is out of the G1 Galaxy winner La Baraka (Euclase), a daughter of the multiple G1 winner Triscay (Marscay).

Brazen Beau, who shuttles to Darley’s Dalham Hall in Newmarket, is currently standing at Northwood Park in Victoria.

He was trained by Chris Waller to win the Coolmore Stud Stakes and Newmarket Handicap and also finished second in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot.

While Godolphin has a wealth of stallions and juveniles, Cummings said Tassort had now obviously set the standard.

"He will be the benchmark for the stable's other young performers," he said. "He's an exciting one to be put away now and prepared for next year."

A colt by exciting young sire Deep Field adapted best to the right-handed turns when he won the Magic Millions Clockwise Classic at Ballarat on Saturday.

The Michael Moroney-trained Hawker Hurricane became the second first crop winner for Deep Field when he made his debut in the unique $300,000 event over 1000m that is the only 2YO race run in Victoria in the clockwise direction.

A race for Magic Millions Classic contenders, Hawker Hurricane beat the Zoustar filly Charvet Horseform and stablemate Alburq Horseform (Rubick).

Moroney’s assistant trainer Jack Turnbull said the stablemates are now heading for $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic at the Gold Coast on January 12.

Hawker Hurricane Horseform (Deep Field x Bernarsini by Bernardini) was purchased by Moroney for $150,000 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

The colt is the first foal out of Bernarsini, a half-sister to G3 winners Ulmann (Sebring) and Mahisara (More Than Ready) from the family of G2 winner Astrodame (Flying Spur) and G1 winner Midnight Fever (Luskin Star).

Both Moroney trained two-year-olds carry the colours of part owner Rupert Legh.

A half sister to Hawker Hurricane by Super One is entered for the 2019 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale in January.
