Online Auction For Ronald McDonald House

Victorian stud owner Nioka Wozny has called on other breeders to support a fund raising bloodstock auction in aid of Ronald McDonald House at Sydney’s Westmead Hospital.

Wozny’s Moorookyle Park Stud had donated nominations to resident sires Sharkbite, Cecconi and Ustinov to the online auction of stallion services.

Ronald McDonald House supports families with children facing extreme medical treatment and needs further funding.

Bidding is open on the services and concludes on the evening of Tuesday August 1.

“It's a wonderful cause and we hope that breeders will get behind Bloodstockauction's initiative," Wozny said.

"It is always a great time of year- watching a foal's first wobbly steps reminds us why we are all in this great game."

Sharkbit, an imposing stakes winning son of Redoute's Choice, has been enjoying a great run of late with his son Clear The Beach a winner at Rosehill on Saturday, recording his third success and second at metropolitan level from just nine starts.

The day before Mako Bay impressed at Geelong whilst other recent Sharkbite winners including Owl On The Prowl, Mordacious, Penthouse Pet, Save Me Ned, Samikosho, Hamilton and My Names Bruce.

Wozny said 24% of Sharkbite’s winners to date have been successful at metropolitan level.

Also represented by recent winners is Encosta de Lago's Blue Diamond Preview winning son Cecconi whose son Brother One saluted by a wide margin at Wanganui.

Cecconi also has smart Hong Kong winner Best Step winning two in a row at Happy Valley in May and yet to finish out of the first four in six starts.

Ustinov – a G2 winning son of Seeking The Gold and Let's Elope - has excellent results despite limited opportunities.

"He has never had big books of mares but has proven a consistent source of winners including five stakes winners and another eight stakes performers,” Wozny said.

Over 35% of Ustinov's winners have either earned black type or won at metropolitan level.
