Pleasing Results For Vendors
Yarraman Park Stud, Bhima Thoroughbreds and Newgate Farm certainly enjoyed their week as vendors at Newmarket for the Classic Yearling Sale.
The three sold all of their big drafts, comprising 19 from Yarraman Park, 18 from Bhima and 17 from Newgate.
They were among 47 vendors finishing the sale with a 100% clearance rate
The leading vendor by average from three or more lots sold was Tyreel Stud, selling seven at an average of $198,667.
Tyreel also sold the sale’s top two lots, the Not A Single Doubt x Pinnochio colt to Carmel Size on behalf of Hong Kong owner Bon Ho for $400,000 and the I Am Invincible x Family Crest filly to Boomer Bloodstock/Murray Thoroughbreds for $360,000.
The gross of $35,653,500 was an increase of 32% from last year and the average for the 498 yearlings sold was $71,593.
Paul Perry Horse Training was the leading buyer by aggregate ($834,500).
Darby Racing/de Burgh Equine, Paul Perry Horse Training and Triple Crown Syndications each purchased nine lots to share honours by number of lots.
The leading stallion by average (3 or more sold) was More Than Ready at $176,667.
All 27 progeny by I Am Invincible sold for the leading aggregate of $4,015,000.
The top priced lot of the closing session was a Fastnet Rock x Esprit De Bleu filly purchased by Victoria’s Matt Laurie Racing for $230,000.
