Pride Is Proud Of His Parfore Family

Warwick Farm trainer Joseph Pride’s long and successful association with the Parfore family is slowly coming to an end despite the brilliant speedster Ball Of Muscle adding to its long list of success with his win in the G3 Heath Stakes at Caulfield.

Pride admitted the Dubawi gelding’s latest win was special following the retirement of his siblings Terravista and Tiger Tees, both noted G1 winners produced by Parfore.

“It’s getting to the end of an era after Terravista and Tiger Tees, his brothers,” he said. “This bloke is the last one left and I’m very proud of their achievements.”

Tiger Tees Horseform (Dubawi) is a brother to Ball Of Muscle Horseform and won the G1 Galaxy for Pride while half-brother Tiger Tees Horseform (Captain Rio) claimed the G1 Darley Classic and the G1 Lightning Stakes at Flemington.

NZ-bred mare Parfore (Gold Brose) has been honoured with numerous awards for her breeding success with all her nine foals to race being winners.

Her other foals include G3 winner and Singapore Horse of the Year Super Easy Horseform (Darci Brahma), five time Listed winner Our Lukas Horseform (Generous) and the multiple winners Balestrand Horseform (Zabeel), Frustrating Horseform (Stravinsky), Ininthree Horseform (Generous) and Our Boy Lukas Horseform (Faltaat)

Frustrating is the dam of the dual Listed winner Long Leaf Horseform (Fastnet Rock).

Parfore is a daughter of Classy Twiggy (Twig Moss), also the dam of G3 winner Mosse (O’Reilly).

The family also features G1 winner Il Quello Veloce (Captain Rio).

Ball Of Muscle, bred in 2010, has won 10 of his 34 starts with 14 placings to be just short of $1 million prizemoney.

NSW stud farm Kitchwin Hills did not have wait long for a return on their investment in former Perth mare Ellicazoom.

The classy daughter of Testa Rossa won the G3 Cockram Stakes at Caulfield at her first start for her new owners after they secured the 5YO for $420,000 at this year’s Magic Millions Perth Winter Mixed Sale, setting a record for an auction sale in WA..

Now with David and Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig in Victoria, she was formerly trained by Neville Parnham and was a Listed winner at Ascot and a multiple G2 placegetter in Perth and Melbourne.

She was originally sourced for $180,000 from the 2015 Gold Coast Magic Millions Yearling Sale by Parnham and has now raced 18 times for three wins, six placings and $426,574 in stakes.

Ellicazoom Horseform (Testa Rossa) is one of four winners from four foals to race from Fimiston’s G1 winner and G2 placed Ellicoram. They include El Doute, a young son of Redoute’s Choice, who is standing his first season at stud in New Zealand.

Kitchwin Hils have Elicazoom booked to be served by Snitzel this spring.

Ellicazoom is one of 63 stakes winners by Testa Rossa that include the G1 winners Ortensia, Rostova, Testafiable and Enzo’s Lad.

Sepoy sired his ninth stakeswinner when Native Soldier won the G3 McNeil Stakes at Caulfield.

Native Soldier (Sepoy x Belong To Many by Belong To Me) was a $160,000 purchase by John Foote at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

His dam Belong To Many recorded eight wins including the G2 Sapphire Stakes and three Listed races.

She is the dam two winners from three foals to the race.

Race Synopsis: Ball Of Muscle staged a very smart first-up effort in winning here. Having his first start since March the speedy eight-year-old began brilliantly from his wide barrier (10), went straight to the front and ran along at a strong tempo. He held a break at the 200m and then fought back gamely for a very good win. Voodoo Lad again settled back in the field and was second last in the 12-horse field at the home turn. He put in a run from the 300m and kept finishing well to gain second in a photo from his stablemate Brave Smash who was fourth on the rails to the home turn, before battling on gamely along the inner for third in a good first-up effort. Rich Charm ran on really well from ninth at the home turn for (1.2 lengths) fourth. The top weight (60kg) Santa Ana Lane was last into the straight and he caught the eye with his late-closing (1.4 lengths) fifth, resuming here.
